Inspiration

"Rivers flow not past, but through us; tingling, vibrating, exciting every cell and fiber in our bodies, making them sing and glide."

John Muir
What We Do

It’s not a job, it’s a way of life.

Guided Tours

Making your way down the river channel is so much better when your guide knows the route and has stories to tell and humor to share. Guided tours are safer, easier, and much more fun. All our adventures include a guide to help you along your way. You may even make a new lifelong friend.

Experience Does Matter

Training, practice, more training, more practice. This is what makes our guides “GUIDES”. Experience matters most when things go south. Your guide will be ready to handle the situation no matter what it may be.

Rafting Center

Your experience with us starts the minute you pull up to our Rafting Center. Check-in is comfortable, easy and fun. We have clean restrooms, change rooms, rinsing stations, and souvenirs to make your experience last even longer. After your trip you can even view and purchase professional photos of your experience. They come in digital format on a 1gig usb shaped just like your raft!

Full Service Deli

Nothing creates an appetite faster than fun in the sun. Coseree’s Deli is now open and ready to take your order.

Historical Rio Bravo Ranch

One of the original homesteads in the area, Rio Bravo Ranch is home to over 9000 acres of ranch land. The ranch offers wine and olive oil tasting as well as breathtaking views. Come stay a little longer and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck.

Splash Back Pass

We have a system in place to make sure that you are treated with gratitude and respect for taking the time to visit us. After your trip you can purchase a return trip for only $25.00. Once you are in the Splash Back pricing you will never pay full price again. This is our way of saying “thank you for coming” and “welcome back” at the same time. Few miss the value of the Splash Back Pass.

Darron Nilsson (Dingo)

Founder & President of RER

A wild child from the start, with blond locks waving in the wind and a red-tipped nose from too much sun, our founder has always loved the outdoors. Born in 1976 in the beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah, Dingo was raised in a family of six children—five boys and one girl, and always plenty of animals.

For most of his life, his priorities have been catching lizards and snakes, and camping and backpacking the Sierras. Moving to California at a young age and setting down roots in Bakersfield was the start of a life long love affair with the mighty Kern River.

Oddly enough, it was his Spanish teacher in high school that introduced him to the lifestyle of the river guide. So began his relationship with the water, the sand, the waves, and the people.

Dingo is not only passionate about the river, but that everyone who joins him on the river has the best experience possible. His fine attention to the smallest details ensures rafters have a safe and entertaining trip down the river and will want to come back again and again. Nothing makes him happier than sharing this slice of the great outdoors, and helping people create amazing and lasting memories.

About Us

We’re a bunch of rafters, kayakers, explorers & hard core thrill seekers that love what we do.

Adventure is at the core of everything we do. We are not happy sitting at home doing nothing. We truly believe that life begins outside of our comfort zone. That being said, we work hard to make sure your experience is as comfortable as possible. If you’re not satisfied then we’re not satisfied. The customer comes first and is always right. This is our mantra.

RER is a twelve year old company with roots that grow deep into the rafting culture here on the Mighty Kern River. A long time ago we were born to our parent company Kern River Tours (KRT) which is the oldest and longest standing outfitter on the Kern River. Rick Roberts, the original owner, pioneered rafting on the Kern River. He even went so far as to blast rocks with dynamite to clear the channels. Don’t worry; he was a qualified Rocket Scientist as well.

Our operation functioned as an appendage to KRT for a very long time until the summer of 2005 when River’s End Rafting became an independent operation from the mother ship. Ever since, we have had laser beam focus on our portion of the river, the Rio Bravo Section. We love what we have and feel it is prime river real-estate. Everyone one who rafts it agrees. It has great rapids, fun terrain, excellent swimming holes, and it is in very close proximity to the city.

Whether you have been rafting a thousand times or have never been before, River’s End Rafting is perfect for everyone.

Clients can’t stop talking about their epic memories with us.
